Dingy Skipper Egg Count

A research project is well underway in Warwickshire to determine the egg laying requirements of the Dingy Skipper butterfly.

The aim is to find and record the location of at least 300 Dingy Skipper eggs across the region in order to acertain the prefered egg laying sites in different parts of the region. The records consists of data entered on to Ova Deposition Preference Survey (ODPS) Forms.

Once this data has been analyzed, the results will be used to advise site owners on how to improve existing habitat for the Dingy Skipper and increase their colony size.

With such a difficult and important task, we need your help. If you would like to take part, please contact the project leader, Mike Slater (details above right). Training on egg survey will be given where required.
