Moths - The Forester (Adscita statices)
This metallic green day-flying moth is easily recognisable in the field although difficulty in identification may occur on sites where the extremely similar Cistus Forester moth occurs. However, in Warwickshire, only the Forester occurs so identification is easy.
Larval Food Plants
The larva feed on Common sorrel (Rumex acetosa) from July to the following May when it pupates in a cocoon near the ground among vegetation.
Disused railway lines.
