Additional Notes

AT LAST! Many other interesting sightings. Tortoiseshells all very fresh. Possible Dark Green Fritillary - big, orange, gliding - but only a glimpse and couldn't find it. Damselfly carrying its prey - a small moth. A Cockchafer that flew at me when I tried to photograph it! Cuckoo - 3 calling in different voices, 2 seen at once on fence by drive. Large Copper - 6 - at least 2 heavily armed .... And the Police helicopter scared a muntjac deer. (Fugitive in the woods.)

Memorial Corner of RWM, which just slips into the next tetrad. My first, and probably only, Green Hairstreak this year, still very active. I thought the Mother Shipton was a Latticed Heath at first, and told David I'd seen one, but later found the MS in the same place and realised my mistake.

Additional Notes

Cinnabar seems to be having an exceptional year, for the last two or so weeks some have been seen in the garden most days, and two neighbours independently commented they keep seeing them. Very little else is about at the moment
