Additional Notes

My first Dingy Skippers this year. Green Hairstreak seen laying eggs. Clouds of the longhorn moth in several places. Rabbit with myxomatosis - not very advanced, eye was weeping badly but not yet swollen. Hornet - both queen and worker seen. Small hunting spider, plump cream-coloured body, rest of it the same colour. Not identified - one of the orb spiders?

My first Green Hairstreaks this year. Cuckoo calling all day - got a good (though distant) sighting of him high in one of the dead trees at the north-east edge of the meadows. He seemed to be a bit hoarse!
